Merri Bush playgroup
AN ALL WEATHER OUTDOOR PLAYGROUP FOR PRESCHOOLERS
New FAMILIES SESSION
First THURSDAY of the month
We welcome new families for a trial session on the first Thursday of the month, every month.
During a regular session, the children spend most of the time playing freely and discovering their environment : climbing rocks or trees, jumping in muddy puddles (an absolute favorite! ), spotting birds or insects, collecting sticks or leaves…
We ask that no toy is brought to the session so that the children can use their imagination and the natural materials at hand during their play. Then, we sit together and share morning tea, sing a song and read a book together.
What to bring :
– Sunscreen and hats
– Gumboots and waterproof overalls for children
– A change of clothes
– Gumboots or waterproof shoes for the carer
– A waterproof mat to sit on
– Morning tea / lunch
THURSDAY : from 10:30am to 12:30pm, at The Magic Circle, off Winifred Street, near the corner of Sutch Street, Merri Park, Northcote.
This location has big grassy areas to have picnics and run around. There are a lot of wattle birds, clear grass areas to run in the sun, low climbing trees and shrubs, mud puddles and more! It is set back a long way from the creek with easy access from Winifred Street.:
– walk from St Georges Road or Nicholson Street trams (11 and 96)
– 503 bus between Essendon and Ceres
– 508 bus between Alphington and Moonee Ponds.
– Bike / Walk – Merri Trail and cross the footbridge into Merri Park.
– Car parking near 16 Winifred Street, Northcote
